WHY DID THEY CUT THIS? OMGThis whole scene shows that despite everything, the bullying, he mindless hatred, and the prejudice his parents placed on him about wizards, that Dudley remembers that Harry saved his life, perhaps on multiple occasions. He grew up with harry, and, in a strange way they are kinda like siblings, and Dudnley would never admit it out loud, but he kinda loves Harry because Harry has been that other child under their roof for as far back as his memories go. He’s just never known another way of treating him. So Harry was right in the books when he said “For Dudley thats like ‘I Love You’ ” because it is.Dudley Dursley just told Harry Potter that he wasn’t a waste of space. Dudley enjoyed having Harry around. Missed him even when he spent a good chunk of his summers at the Burrow, because the house on Privet Drive seemed less full, less alive without him there. So his cousin was a very good use of space after all. People who never read the books, will always see Dudley as just a brat and a bully. They will never see him as he is. A good kid with awful, closed minded parents.
